About
Kevin received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego in 1991. He received his Juris Doctorate degree in 1994 from Ohio Northern University where he won, among others, the American Jurisprudence book awards for corporate taxation and partnership taxation. Kevin went on to obtain his Master of Laws in Taxation from the University of Florida law school’s Graduate Taxation Program in 1995.
Prior to joining Barnes, Walker, Goethe, Perron & Shea, PLLC, Kevin worked as a Wealth Strategist for more than 13 years with Raymond James Financial, Inc., at their headquarters, providing estate and gift taxation guidance to Raymond James’ 8,000 financial advisors, working with their clients, and the clients’ attorneys and accountants. Prior to that, Kevin worked in private practice focusing on tax law and estate planning. Kevin also has experience in the creation of business entities, drafting shareholder and operating agreements, preparing agreements for the purchase and sale of businesses, conducting 1031 Exchanges, handling real estate transactions, and litigation. Kevin was also a Tax Manager at Arthur Andersen’s Miami office focusing on international taxation and estate taxation.
In his leisure time, Kevin is a general class ham operator (KJ4LXV call sign) and volunteers his time at local parks and water management districts.
Kevin joined Barnes Walker in 2020 and is a member of The Florida Bar, its Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section, and the Manatee County Bar Association.
