Recording Process
- Obtain certified copy of final judgment from originating clerk
- Present to clerk in county where debtor’s property is located
- Pay recording fee
- Clerk records and indexes under debtor’s name
- Lien effective from date/time of recording

- $1 first page + $8.50 each additional page (Section 28.24)
- Typical: $1-$1 for a 1-3 page judgment
- E-recording may involve additional vendor fees
Multi-County Recording
- Lien only attaches in the county where recorded
- Record in every county where debtor has property
- Record in counties where debtor may acquire property
- Out-of-state judgments: domesticate first under Section 55.501
