Definition: A post-verdict motion requesting the court to enter judgment for the movant despite the jury's verdict, on the grounds that no reasonable jury could have reached the verdict based on the evidence presented.

Judgment Notwithstanding the Verdict (JNOV) in Florida

JNOV (now called a renewed motion for judgment as a matter of law) asks the court to overturn the jury’s verdict when no reasonable jury could have reached the result. Under Rule 1.480(b), it is an extraordinary post-trial remedy that preserves the right of appellate review.
