Florida Notary Public Duties and Liability

A Florida notary public (Chapter 117) performs acknowledgments, jurats, oaths, and certifications. Must verify identity, ensure willingness, maintain journal, and avoid financial interest conflicts (Section 117.107(11)). Bond: $7,500; E&O insurance recommended. Commission: 4 years, renewable.
