Punch List

Definition: A detailed list of incomplete or deficient work items that must be corrected by the contractor before final completion and acceptance of a construction project. The punch list is compiled during the final inspection and must be completed before final payment.

Punch Lists in Florida Construction

A punch list itemizes work to complete/correct before project completion. Created during walk-through. Owner may withhold 150% of estimated completion cost (Section 713.346). Contractor: 30 days to complete. If not: owner hires another contractor, deducts from withheld funds. Disputes: scope vs. change orders, quality, timing, and cost withholding.
