FL Xeriscaping Requirements

FL xeriscaping law (Section 373.185): no government/HOA/covenant can prohibit FL-friendly landscaping (IFAS). Can: replace lawns, use mulch, install rain barrels, reduce turf. Enacted for water conservation. Districts: SFWMD (rebates), SWFWMD (Water Star certification), SJRWMD (free evaluations), NWFWMD (education). Irrigation restrictions: 1-2 days/week, no 10AM-4PM, rain sensors required. Xeriscaped: less irrigation needed. Practical compliance strategy.
